Rochelle Gooch, Peregian Beach Bush Care Group
"We have known Damien since 2006, when he was our Bushland Care Field Officer. He supervised, taught and encouraged our group of inexperienced volunteers so we became effective and efficient bush regenerators. Since then, I have had many dealings with him in various rehabilitation roles – both advisory and ‘on-ground hands-on.’ He assisted our group to develop detailed and comprehensive ‘Scope of Works’ and also with the successful implementation and execution of these difficult projects. He has a comprehensive knowledge of plant propagation and taught us the required techniques needed for specific projects.
From Damien, our Bushland Care volunteers learnt qualities important for successful bushland rehabilitation, including meticulous planning, patience and persistence. He uses those same qualities with his wholesale nursery and commercial enterprises.
